owenthal introduces the Villoresi Edition, an exclusive five-beat sweep-seconds chronograph inspired by one of the defining moments in the Maison’s history.

In 1951, following victory at the Syracuse Grand Prix, Enzo Ferrari presented a Lowenthal chronograph to Scuderia Ferrari driver Luigi “Gigi” Villoresi. That timepiece embodied an era when precision, elegance, and competition existed in perfect harmony.

At its heart beats the meticulously remastered Lowenthal Caliber 2518, an artisanal hand-wound chronograph. Each movement requires more than 100 hours of hand-finishing, assembly, and regulation. Individually executed anglage, black polishing, frosted graining, and painstaking bridge refinements transform a historic chronograph architecture into a contemporary expression of haute horlogerie.

Operating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, equivalent to five beats per second, the chronograph faithfully preserves the cadence of the great mid-century chronographs while enabling timing precision to one-fifth of a second. The central chronograph hand advances in elegant one-fifth- second increments, reflecting the distinctive rhythm of traditional mechanical chronographs.

The 40.5 mm case is crafted from 904L stainless steel and houses a dial whose character is defined by a carefully controlled aging process inspired by six decades of natural patina. Each dial develops an individual appearance, ensuring that no two watches are identical.

The inaugural edition consists of only 48 individually numbered timepieces:
