ith this strictly limited work of art, Alexander Shorokhoff presents an extraordinary timepiece that goes far beyond traditional watchmaking – a mechanical work of art with character, conviction, and heart.
The name “Mike” is more than just a name. It is derived from “Michael” and its Russian diminutive “Mischa”, which translates as “bear”. This very symbol is subtly hidden within the design: a bear that does not make a loud entrance, but reveals itself only upon closer inspection – perfectly in keeping with Alexander Shorokhoff’s playful and intellectual design language.
Fine guilloché patterns and relief-like structures, small colorful eyes, as well as a subtle opening for the mouth in the upper sub-dial of the minute counter, bring the bear to life and give the dial its narrative depth.
This symbolism forms the artistic core of the project and connects the watch with the Biker Charity Run Süd. Its identifying symbol is also the bear, representing solidarity and a willingness to help. As part of this initiative, donations are collected for children suffering from rheumatic diseases, while the children’s hospital in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which specializes in treating these conditions, is supported.
Inside, the mechanical Dubois Dépraz 14400A automatic movement with jumping hours takes center stage – a complication that deliberately reinterprets the flow of time. The hours do not appear gradually, but change in distinctive jumps. A large “H” on the upper sub-dial reinforces the graphic architecture of this display and adds further tension to the dial. The seconds are shown on the lower sub-dial with large, colorful numerals in the distinctive AS style.
“Mike” is limited to just 10 pieces worldwide and combines exceptional watchmaking craftsmanship with a clear humanitarian message. For every timepiece sold, €500 is donated directly to the Rheumatology Children’s Hospital in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, supported by the Biker Charity Run Süd, initiated by Harald Forster.
The result is a watch that does more than measure time – it takes responsibility, consciously and wholeheartedly. “Mike” is not an ordinary timepiece, but a character on the wrist: a quiet protector, an artistic statement, and a symbol that even avant-garde can have a heart.
