Hamilton revives a defining design from the Art Deco age for a new generation

More than a century after Hamilton introduced its first cushion-shaped watches, the American Classic Cushion collection returns with a design language rooted in one of the most transformative periods in watchmaking.

nspired by Hamilton’s Cushion Plain and Cushion Engraved models of 1926, the new collection draws directly from the geometric forms, distinctive proportions and architectural influences that defined the Art Deco era. Combining balanced symmetry with a striking presence on the wrist, these watches reflect a moment when wristwatches emerged as both practical timekeepers and expressions of personal style.

At the heart of the collection is the new H-42 hand-wound caliber, based on the ETA 7001, a movement descended from the renowned Peseux 7001 introduced in the 1970s. Its exceptionally slim profile allows Hamilton to create elegant 30mm and 34mm timepieces while preserving the authenticity and charm of a mechanical watch.

Enhanced for today’s wearer, the H-42 features a Nivachron™ balance spring and an extended 57-hour power reserve, combining the appeal of a classic hand-wound movement with the reliability and performance expected from a contemporary timepiece.

As interest in vintage watches and smaller proportions continues to grow, the American Classic Cushion collection reintroduces the distinctive character of the 1920s for today’s collectors.

Available in 30mm and 34mm sizes, with multiple dial executions and case finishes, the American Classic Cushion collection includes engraved case options alongside steel and yellow-gold-color PVD models, with finishes ranging from sandblasted textures to enamel-style and sunray dials.

By combining archival inspiration with modern engineering, the collection brings one of Hamilton’s most distinctive historical forms into a new era.
