XRby Le Pin Parasol

A collaboration between two artists brings miniature watercolour painting and sapphire engraving together.

Rby presents a new interpretation of Le Pin Parasol, bringing together Philippe Jacquin-Ravot and Rémi Bultor. The miniature watercolour on the dial is now complemented by a landscape engraved around the side of the sapphire glassbox. Seen from the front or in profile, the watch reveals a dialogue between colour and transparency.

Philippe Jacquin-Ravot paints the umbrella pine in miniature. His watercolour captures its branching structure, the subtle shades of its foliage and its familiar silhouette. Rémi Bultor introduces a second perspective: his sapphire engraving reveals a landscape of pine trees around the dial. Light brings out the motifs as the viewing angle changes, inviting the eye to linger on the profile of the watch.

This new interpretation gives artistic expression a wider canvas. The painted dial and engraved sapphire form a single composition while preserving the distinctive hand of each artist.

Late afternoon by the sea, the shade of pine trees, the sound of cicadas: Le Pin Parasol draws on these sensory memories. The landscape leaves each wearer free to recall a place, a quality of light or a moment of their own.

Founded in 2020 by Xavier Rousset in Besançon, XRby was created to make watches in collaboration with artistic craftspeople, giving them carte blanche. The brand sees the watch as a space for artistic expression and brings the makers behind each creation into the spotlight. Le Pin Parasol embodies this approach: two artists, working with complementary skills, brought together by XRby in a shared watchmaking project.
