he Biver AB began with a challenge from the brand’s closest collectors: those who visit the family atelier in Givrins and share their ideas directly with founders Pierre and Jean-Claude Biver. Meeting their expectations meant starting from a blank sheet, rather than adapting an existing model such as the Automatique.
The project brought together new materials, a purpose-built movement, innovative dial techniques and extensive testing. The result is a milestone for Biver: its first stainless steel watch and its first hand-wound timepiece.
Developed from the ground up, the manual-wind movement features twin barrels delivering more than 120 hours of power reserve. Its mainplate and bridges are crafted from PD210, a tarnish-resistant, palladium-rich white gold alloy.
Pulling out the crown instantly resets the small-seconds hand to zero, allowing precise time-setting.
Every component receives meticulous finishing, from circular graining and hand-bevelling to new sandblasted finishes for the bridges, developed by Head Decorator Khaled. Finishing the mainplate alone takes two full days.
Each watch is assembled from start to finish by a single watchmaker at the Givrins atelier, with support from the Bureau Technique and decoration teams.
