or Atelier Dorigo, fencing provides both a design vocabulary and a founding philosophy. Its founders, brothers Clément and Auxence Dorigo, are international fencing champions whose complementary backgrounds in design and mechanical engineering led them into watchmaking. With Riposta, their second collection, they translate that shared experience into a more compact proposition.

The project took shape over Christmas in 2024, when the brothers began discussing how to bring their vision of French watchmaking to life. Atelier Dorigo was established ten days later. Its debut collection, Accierra, followed in October 2025, combining a bold square case with subtle references to their sport, including five inserts recalling the touches required to win a bout.

Riposta takes that language in a new direction. Conceived as a more versatile watch for everyday wear, the collection measures 36mm across and 9.2mm thick. Polished surfaces alternate with vertical brushing on the case, while a lacquered bezel carries polished applied hour markers. Brushed hands and a sapphire crystal complete the exterior, paired with an integrated textured leather strap.

The four versions draw their names from fencing positions: Prime in black, Seconde in olive, Tierce in chocolate and Quarte in red. Each offers a distinct colour expression within the same compact format.

Inside is a France Ébauches automatic movement, which Atelier Dorigo states is regulated to within −4/+4 seconds per day. The movement and oscillating weight feature snailed decoration. Assembly and regulation take place in Paris, continuing the founders’ emphasis on French expertise.

Water resistance is rated to 5 ATM, while the watch weighs 48g without its strap and 73g with it. Following the assertive geometry of Accierra, Riposta broadens Atelier Dorigo’s offering while retaining the sporting references that shaped its first collection.
