For the last three years Blancpain has been the Official Sponsor of the International Tournament of Barcelona held over a 6 day period in May. Fortuitous and, perhaps fitting in this year which marks the 270th Anniversary for Blancpain, not only was Blancpain the sponsor of the tournament itself, but team Blancpain from the Spanish Real Club de Polo was the winner!







Polo often called the “Sport of Kings” and the “King of Sports” is one of the oldest, most storied and traditional sports in the world. Its celebration of elegance, grace and tradition makes natural the ties to Blancpain whose refined timepieces and watch making creed are guided by centuries of watch making tradition and craft.

In its march to victory, team Blancpain faced international opponents from three continents. Pictured enclosed are Antonio Lopez and Georgette Muñera from Blancpain celebrating with the Spanish Blancpain Team.

Blancpain’s sponsorship of the Bacelona Tournament and its victory is just one of many highlights of Blancpain’s 270th Anniversary year. All of the 270th Anniversary events build toward the climax of the year, scheduled for October when Blancpain and Marc A. Hayek will unveil its newly refurbished famous farmhouse atelier in Le Brassus.
