Jeweler, aerospace firm partner for watch brand

July 2005

Italian jeweler Repossi and engineering and aerospace company Hispano-Suiza have joined forces for a new watch and luxury product brand, with Repossi Chairman and Managing Director Alberto Repossi and Hispano-Suiza president Bernard Dumand signing their partnership in an agreement last week.

Repossi is the official jeweler of the royal family of Monaco. The company launched its first watch collection in 2001, and partnered with Audemars Piguet for a jewelry collection in 2002.

In the 1920s and 1930s, Hispano-Suiza luxury automobiles became a status symbol for members of high society, drawing figures like Pablo Picasso, Greta Garbo, Albert Einstein and the kings of Spain and Sweden to select Hispano-Suiza cars. The company has since evolved to focus on the design, manufacture and support of commercial and military engine control systems, power transmissions, power electronic and actuators. Hispano-Suiza also participates in research and development of electric aircraft.
