Signature Salons returns, expands

January 2006

After a positive response from exhibitors, retailers, sponsors and editors, the VNU Expositions Jewelry Group has announced the return of Signature Salons, which premiered during Las Vegas market week this year.

Signature Salons will take place at the Wynn Las Vegas from Saturday, June 3 to Tuesday, June 6, 2006. The show will be held immediately following the Couture Jewellery Collection & Conference at Wynn from May 31-June 2, 2006.

Next year's show will see an expansion of the number of exhibitors by more than 33 percent, from 180 to 240 designers, brands and timepieces, according to a press release from VNU Expositions Jewelry Group, which like NATIONAL JEWELER, is owned by VNU.

Signature Salons features premier high-end designers and manufacturers. Over 100 exhibitors such as David Yurman, Mikimoto, Roberto Coin, Beaudry, Charriol, Scott Kay, Hearts on Fire and John Hardy will only show their collections in Las Vegas at Signature Salons. The event is designed to bring a quality versus quantity environment of the world's crème de la crème and is open to all qualified retailers, free of charge.

Next year Signature Salons will also expand its exclusive Timepiece Villas, called Timepiece Privé. This allows the finest watch companies from around the world to have a presence at the show, and showcase their collections in the beautiful Fairway Villas of Wynn, all featuring luxury VIP amenities in suites, private access and appointment concierge, and pools or terraces overlooking the spectacular 18-hole Wynn golf course.

Timepiece Privé is an exclusive and private grouping of elite watch companies designed to provide an upscale environment for these luxury brands to hold by-appointment-only meetings during the show. More importantly, it provides a convenient venue to see the best of the best, consolidated in one location.

Among those signed on for the 2006 Timepiece Privé are Chopard, De Grisogono, Bedat, Hublot, Raymond Weil and Carl Bucherer.

In an effort to make it easier for attendees and exhibitors to do business in 2006, an electronic planner will be available online well ahead of the show. It will allow exhibitors and attendees to schedule appointments with each other. This computerized matchmaking system will facilitate appointment booking between exhibitors and retailers by cross referencing the exhibitors' “wish list” of retailers with the retailers' “wish list” of suppliers. The system will generate a schedule of appointments for each person based on the information they have provided and is meant to eliminate the hassle of making or receiving repeated phone calls resulting in a more focused and valuable way to do business.

The show will also offer new and improved signage both inside the Wynn and outside major traffic areas to better direct visitors to and from the Wynn, the Sands, JCK, Signature Salons and all exciting special event locations. Signature Salons registration will also be streamlined, allowing a simplified process of entering the show. Additionally, buying groups of six or more will enjoy an even faster-track registration process.

And, show management has arranged for a much larger block of rooms at Wynn, allowing even more retailers to stay at the luxury hotel while doing business
under one roof. For more information, call 646-654-4952.
