Audemars Piguet and Italian ski star Giorgio Rocca

January 2006

Faithful to its values of tradition and excellence, the Manufacture in Le Brassus has chosen to link its name with that of the champion from Livigno, Giorgio Rocca, one of the most promising athletes competing in the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Turin.
30 year-old Giorgio Rocca, world Championship medallist at St. Moritz in 2003 and Bornio in 2005, and winner of numerous World Cup competitions, is extremely proud to be representing Audemars Piguet. He wears a Royal Oak Offshore chronograph symbolising a level of skill and mastery reminiscent of that shown by Giorgio Rocca as he weaves his way around the slalom courses.

This new partnership enables the Manufacture to renew its ties with the world of alpine skiing and to revive memories of the successful and thrilling adventures of Alberto Tomba, also a brand ambassador at the time. Audemars Piguet thereby contributes to promoting the values it cherishes, embodied by sport and its most daring players.
The same spirit inspired the design of the Royal Oak in 1972, as Audemars Piguet boldly challenged all existing trends by creating the first luxury sports watch crafted from an unusual material in the world of prestige: steel. For over thirty years, this exceptional timepiece has remained the benchmark in the field of prestige sports.
