Audemars Piguet and Oval Time

April 2006

Audemars Piguet gave its own interpretation of time at the 2006 International Fine Watchmaking Exhibition (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie - SIHH), reflecting an intimate moment lived by each of us in our own way through our own milestones and memories – a time of happiness. Audemars Piguet has embodied this idea in the Millenary collection and the concept of Oval Time, creating watches for men and women, in which the automatic movement is housed within an oval case. To celebrate the launch, the Manufacture invited friends, ambassadors and colleagues to an outstanding evening bearing the hallmark of time.

On April 4, 2006, Jasmine Audemars, President of the Board of Directors, and Georges-Henri Meylan, Managing Director of Manufacture Audemars Piguet, joined friends and colleagues at Espace Sécheron for a grand gala dinner. Special guest Hungarian artist Ferenc Cako enchanted all in attendance with his wonderful sand animations, offering a poetic look at the passage of time. A graduate of the College of Creative Arts, and winner of numerous awards, Cako is known around the world for his live shows and animated films. The memorable evening was rounded off by Audemars Piguet ambassador and singing star Anggun, synonymous with the unforgettable Neige au Sahara, who perfectly captured the femininity and beauty reflected in the AP ladies’ collections. Anggun shared the stage with leading Australian vocalist Tina Arena, whose magical voice further echoed an enchanting evening.

Other guests of honour included well-known Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, currently starring in the sublime Memories of a Geisha, and talented Italian skier Giorgio Rocca, both Audemars Piguet ambassadors.
