Tissot ambassador Nicky Hayden becomes the 2006 MotoGP World Champion

Tissot is proud to announce Nicky Hayden as the new 2006 MotoGP World Champion and first ever World Champion of the brand. With 10 podiums and 252 points Nicky Hayden finished his fourth season in the MotoGP with a World Championship title.

Nicky Hayden signed an official agreement with the Swiss watchmaking brand in November 2005 and became the
company’s first US male sporting ambassador. Tissot, which has been the Official Timekeeper of the MotoGP for the last six years, as well as providing the official MotoGP watch for the championship is proud of their first ever World Champion.

In 2006, Tissot launched a dedicated limited edition Nicky Hayden watch in orange and black, with Motorcycle design details and his lucky number “69” engraved on the back. For 2007, Tissot will create a new limited edition World Champion watch for Nicky Hayden and his fans.

Known as the ‘Kentucky Kid’, Nicky Hayden is only 25 years of age but was already Rookie of the Year for his first MotoGP season in 2003 and in 2005 he finished in overall 3rd position in the world. Having been riding professionally since he was 16, Nicky Hayden entered his first competition at the age of four! He was the youngest ever winner of both the US Supersport and Superbike.
