Now in its 41st year, the Driver of the Year distinguishes itself as the oldest award in the United States. A panel of 18 leading sports broadcasters and journalists from around the country submits a secret ballot to determine the overall winner. A quarterly winner is determined by a points system vote. The award is currently run by Barry Schmoyer, President of the Driver of the Year Foundation. Schmoyer is a businessman and sportsman based out of Sarasota, Florida.

“We are delighted to begin a new partnership with the Driver of the Year Award and look forward to many years of rewarding the world’s best across many first-in-class sports,” stated Olivier Cosandier, Tissot U.S. Brand Manager. “Being chosen as the watch of choice for such a well-respected and highly coveted award perfectly compliments and reinforces our brand heritage and global position in motor sports.”

“We are honored that Tissot, bringing a tradition of excellence and performance in sports, will be associated with an award that shares similar values,” said Schmoyer. “We hope that this is just the first step in raising the awareness of Driver of the Year.
Further information on the award may be obtained from Driver of the Year Foundation, PO Box 49827, Sarasota, Florida 34230 or by calling (941) 953-6209.
