Contrary to a number of other members of our profession, Europa Star has not given in to the temptation of offering awards and prizes for Watches of the Year. There are already a lot in the arena and our 'universal' vocation leads us to prefer democratic cohabitation over choosing the 'best of breed'.

Nonetheless, if we were so inclined to advance a particular watch, it would be the Royal Oak Concept by Audemars Piguet. Why? Because this watch is opening roads to the future. Because it offers a demonstration of a fertile continuity between the past and what lies ahead. Because it proves that the mechanical watch can still innovate. Because it is bold and courageous.
