Now in its 28th year, Sotheby's annual sale of Magnificent Jewels will once again be held at the Kulm Hotel in St. Moritz on the 21st of February 2003. This year's sale consists of 264 lots, all carefully sourced and brought together by senior specialist Alexandra Rhodes - Senior Director and jewellery specialist for Sotheby's Europe - and her team. Dating from 1900 to the present day, the jewels on offer take us on a journey through a century of changing taste and design: the timeless beauty of diamonds is offset by magnificent examples in the art nouveau style by Sandoz, Lalique, Vever, and L. Gautrait; pieces from the 1930s to the 1960s are represented by names such as Heldwein, Cartier, GÜbelin, Van Cleff & Arpels and Belperron; and contemporary jewellery is represented by Bulgari, Graff, Boucheron and Michele della Valle.
