JeanRichard – mixing a maximum of materials

February 2010

This year JeanRichard’s offerings showcase the brand’s ability to combine unique materials, while powering its watches with its in-house manufacture movement, the JR1000, as a base.
The first new watch is the 2Timezones Zirconium. Zirconium is a high-performance metal, commonly used in medical equipment and supersonic aircraft production, though almost unused in the world of watchmaking. Extremely resistant to shocks, corrosion and high temperatures, Zirconium is light and has a very attractive, warm mat grey colour. The new 2Timezones Zirconium features the JR1060 dual timezone movement, a vulcanised rubber-coated steel bezel, titanium pushers and crown-shields and a black PVD-coated titanium crown.
Water resistant to 30 metres, the 43mm 2Timezones Zirconium comes fitted with a black rubber coated alligator strap and a black PVD stainless steel folding buckle. This watch is a limited edition, available in two dial colours for a total of 249 pieces.

Diverscope JR1000 Goldwaters

The other pre-SIHH introduction available at press time is the Diverscope JR1000 Goldwaters. Mixing pink gold and vulcanized rubber (used in SCUBA masks), the 300 metre water resist-ant Diverscope is luxurious and utilitarian, as it is first and foremost designed to be used in the water. For example, the pink gold crown at three o’clock activates the hour and minute as well as the date setting, while the pink gold crown at nine o’clock controls the positioning of the locking bidirectional, internal bezel – to safeguard remaining diving time. The last, critical fifteen minutes of diving time is in very visible gold, for further legibility.
The Diverscope JR1000 Goldwaters watch comes with two straps, one in rubber and one in rubber-coated alligator.
