Doxa SUB 300 TI5: lighter metal, familiar character

Grade 5 titanium returns to Doxa’s permanent collection with the SUB 300 Ti5. Alongside familiar dial colours, a fully luminous Whitepearl brings a different expression to the dive watch, while COSC certification extends across the range.

T

he SUB 300 Ti5 revisits Doxa’s established diving design through its case material. Grade 5 titanium replaces steel for the case, crown and screw-in back, bringing reduced weight and corrosion resistance to a silhouette whose origins date to 1967.

Dimensions remain substantial: 42.5mm across, 45mm in length and 13.4mm thick. The material change should nevertheless make its presence less pronounced over prolonged wear. A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment preserves the familiar profile, while the screw-down crown contributes to water resistance of 300 metres.

The unidirectional bezel retains DOXA’s dual scale, pairing depth and dive time according to historical US Navy no-decompression tables. An oversized minute hand provides the principal visual reference, supported by luminous dive-related indications. These established features keep the watch recognisably within the SUB family.

Colour remains central to its identity. Orange Professional, black Sharkhunter, blue Caribbean and cherry-red Red Coral accompany Whitepearl, whose dial is entirely coated in Super-LumiNova. The white surface becomes luminous after dark, extending the emphasis on legibility beyond the hands and markers. Whitepearl comes on either a black or white Dive Flex rubber strap; the range adopts this strap’s woven texture.

Inside, the automatic Sellita SW200-1 runs at 4Hz and supplies approximately 38 hours of power reserve. Each movement is COSC-certified. The proposition combines a lighter case material with independently tested precision, while retaining the display and construction that define Doxa’s diving heritage.

Price: CHF 2,750 / CHF 2,850 (Whitepearl)
