The M.A.D.Gallery is a key visiting point in the heart of Geneva, just a few steps away from the MB&F workshops: on rue Verdaine, where you won’t find the usual, standardised, megabrand stores – only carefully-curated boutiques and galleries with distinctive, hard-to-find s&xfeff;elections inside.

As the name implies, the brand didn’t want this to be a boutique, but wanted a Gallery – a creative platform to host not just its own Horological Machines but also all sorts of other Machines from around the world, by creators whom the brand admires. Many of these creators have yet to be discovered…

The M.A.D.Gallery is really an extension of the MB&F concept: the creators showcased are a new set of Friends from the brand. Their creations transcend a practical purpose, just like MB&F: the MB&F Machines are timepieces of course but, more than that, the group thinks of them as three-dimensional kinetic sculptures.

Some of the first examples of the above are the incredible “Machine Lights” by Frank Buchwald in Berlin, the transformer sculptures by Chinese artist Xia Hang, or the kinetic objects by Laikingland, an English pair with a great sense of humour. MB&F calls them Mechanical Art Devices – the “M.A.D.” in M.A.D.Gallery. Moreover, the visitor will also find the complete MB&F collection, including the recent Legacy Machine N°1 and HM4 Limited Editions.
