2012 Olympic champion and thus the holder of four Olympic gold medals and an Olympic silver, Ben Ainslie is the most successful sailor in Games history. He was now claimed the Sailor of the Year award for the fourth time, after previous wins in1998, 2002 and 2008.

“It is a huge honor, especially for everyone who has helped me,” Ainslie said of the award. “There is a whole team behind me made up of families, friends, coaches and partners, and who enabled me to reach this gold. I’m also proud of being part of an incredible line-up of sailors who were nominated for this prize.”

“I’m delighted for Ben Ainslie, who richly deserves this title of Sailor of the Year,” said Corum CEO and shareholder Antonio Calce. “We at Corum are really proud to have two exceptional sailing ambassadors who represent the brand with flying colors and contribute to its international influence. The nomination of Ben Ainslie and Loïck Peyron for the Sailing Awards, and now Ben’s victory, highlight the performances of these exceptional sailors.”

Corum’s Admiral’s Cup Legend Tourbillon Micro-Rotor Timepiece

Ben Ainslie took part last week at the SalonQP watch show in London. During the time he spent at the Corum booth, Ainslie was presented by Corum’s Director of Public Relations, Marie-Alexandrine Leibowitch, with the watch that caught his eye: the Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Tourbillon Micro-Rotor. The latter is a masterpiece of horology that adds a further touch of elegance, emotion and technical refinement to the heritage of a watch that has sailed its way through 50 years of history. This model designed by passionate sealovers was thus an entirely natural choice for Ben.
