Eberhard & Co. Scafograf 300

Launched in 1959 to meet an increasing demand for reliable diving watches, the Scafograf has been one of Eberhard & Co.’s biggest success stories.

T

he first two Scafograf models, launched in the 1950s and the 1960s, were water resistant to 100 and 200 metres respectively. They immediately climbed to the apex of the market, encouraging Eberhard & Co. to take on new challenges. The result was the Scafograf 300, targeted at professional divers, and its subsequent evolutions, which could withstand depths of up to 1000 metres.

In 2016, Eberhard & Co. returned with a re-edition of the Scafograf 300, which was rewarded by the judges of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Its “galbé” black dial has luminescent applied indices and the date at 3 o’clock. It comes with an integrated black rubber strap or a Chassis® steel bracelet with Déclic® deployment clasp.

More recently, Eberhard & Co. also launched a celebratory edition of its prized diving watch, named “MCMLIX”, the Roman numerals for the year of the collection’s birth, 1959. On this special edition, the all-black dial and ceramic bezel are animated by hands and markers with “vintage” luminescence.

The Scafograf 300 is a mechanical self-winding diving watch with a 43 mm steel case, a unidirectional rotating bezel in ceramic, luminescent markings on the first 15 minutes scale, curved sapphire glass and a helium escape valve at 9 o’clock.

Price: Euro 2,480 with strap or Euro 3,060 with metal bracelet
