he latest TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Sport introduces more compact proportions. The case diameter drops from 44mm to 42mm, while thickness is reduced from 15.48mm to 14.17mm. A shorter lug-to-lug distance should further improve comfort on the wrist, while preserving the model’s assertive character.
Unveiled during the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, it arrives with the full weight of TAG Heuer’s Formula 1 involvement behind it. The more interesting story, however, lies in how the brand is refining an established design.
The evolution of the dial architecture—the shift to prominent 60-minute scale numerals (05, 10, 20)—serves as a direct link to the historical DNA of racing chronographs. Far from a mere stylistic update, this detail reclaims the functional dashboard speedometer aesthetics that first inspired motorsport timepieces in the 1960s, giving the Sport a clearer identity within the wider Carrera family. The three-register layout remains, as does the date at 6 o’clock. A ceramic tachymeter bezel and piston-inspired pushers sustain the automotive vocabulary.
Five references explore familiar colour combinations: blue and teal-green with silver counters, silver with black “panda” counters, and black opaline punctuated by red chronograph indications. The blue version also comes on perforated brown leather.
A sapphire back reveals the automatic manufacture calibre TH20-00, which offers an 80-hour power reserve. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres and the warranty runs to five years. The tapered steel bracelet adds tool-free length adjustment. Taken together, these changes suggest a Carrera increasingly shaped around the realities of daily wear, while retaining its allegiance to the racetrack.
Price: CHF 6,000 (leather strap) / CHF 6,200 (steel bracelet)
