March 2006

Hollywood superstar and TAG Heuer Ambassador Uma Thurman, the glamorous star of Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1/2, and the just-released Prime, has been knighted “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres,” France’s highest cultural distinction. The ceremony took place in the French Assembly in Paris on February 8th, 2006, and was conducted by Cannes Film Festival director Gilles Jacobs.

This very exclusive distinction is delivered as a tribute to selected artists in recognition of their career contribution to the world of Arts and Culture.

That evening, Uma appeared live on the primetime TV program “Le Grand Journal de Canal Plus” to promote her new movie Prime. A TAG Heuer Ambassador since 2005, Uma proudly wore her TAG Heuer Carrera Steel watch on the program, where she declared that she was very honored to receive such a distinction from France, a country that she “adores.”

With this new distinction, the Hollywood star not only embodies the core values of passion, prestige, performance and elegance that have driven the TAG Heuer brand in its pursuit of perfection for 145 years, but also stands, more than ever, as the incarnation of today’s TAG Heuer woman, fusing strength, glamour, and irresistible beauty.
