Baselworld 2007 already set for success

November 2006

The number of registrations received for Baselworld 2007 so far confirms that the World Watch and Jewellery Show is already set for success. The show, which marks the highlight of the luxury goods industry, will be continuing its dynamic development at a very high level next year too.

A successful start has been made on preparations for Baselworld 2007 (April 12 – 19, 2007). The number of registrations received to date shows that the World Watch and Jewellery Show will be consolidating its position as the leading international show and the industry’s most important rendezvous next year too.

All the eminent brands present in Basel

The show management can already confirm that all the eminent watch and jewellery brands will be present in Basel once again next spring. This continuity reflects the eminent importance of Baselworld as a trigger for innovations in the luxury goods industry. The world show will thus be able to follow straight on from the exceedingly successful shows of past years. For the next Baselworld, the show management is expecting some 2,100 exhibitor companies and more than 95,000 visitors in Basel.

Basel has traditionally attracted watch brands from all the different sectors of the market, reflecting the industry in a highly representative fashion. In 2007, once again, Baselworld is set to retain its key importance for the development of the watch industry in all its different segments. Exhibitor demand is running at a very high level in the individual jewellery sectors too. The “First Avenue” in the Hall of Visions, which was successfully launched last year, will once again feature as a highlight of the world show. The new positioning concept adopted for the Hall of Feelings at Baselworld 2007 will additionally enhance the jewellery halls in hall 2. Show director, Sylvie Ritter, explains: “Our endeavours to present the entire world jewellery industry in Basel have been successful once again. BASELWORLD is gaining increasing importance for our jewellery exhibitors thanks to the high quality of the visitors attending the show.”

In addition, in spring 2007, the world show will once again mark the annual rendezvous of the international diamond trade. The world’s leading precious stone and diamond traders will be present in the Hall of Elements. The increasing image awareness of the diamond trade over the past few years has served to greatly promote participation in the show as a marketing instrument. Alongside the watch and jewellery industries, the diamond, precious stone and pearl sector is continuing to assume growing importance at Baselworld too.
