November 2007

Rolex has once again taken up its role as underwriter of the annual Alzheimer's Association Rita Hayworth Gala, an event held last month in honor of screen legend Rita Hayworth, who was stricken with the disease while in her 40s.

The Oct. 10 event was held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City and raised more than $2 million for the Alzheimer's Association.

Noted attendees included a mix of New York socialites, actors and media personalities such as Muffy Potter Aston, Donna Dixon Aykroyd and Dan Aykroyd, Bryant and Hillary Gumbel, Anne Hearst, John McEnroe, Ron Perelman, Regis Philbin and Ivana Trump, among others.

Rolex Watch USA has been the gala's underwriter for the past five years, and Rolex President and Chief Executive Officer Allen Brill has announced the watch brand will continue in this role through 2012, which would mark Rolex's 10-year anniversary as the event's underwriter.

Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, Hayworth’s daughter, established the Rita Hayworth Gala more than 20 years ago. Since the event's inception, more than $48 million has been raised for Alzheimer's Association care, support and research.
