The elegant timepiece is presented in a 50-piece series boasting luxurious mother-of-pearl marquetry and precious gemstones.
The power of light is the inspiration behind the new Fendi IShine Limited Edition series of timepieces. Thanks to an elegant dial that has been finely matched with a selection of gemstones, the watches certainly do have a brightness about them.
The 50 piece limited edition series is available in two 38mm case options. One is an 18-karat yellow gold version with a diamond-set crown, while the second is an elegant 18-karat rose gold version. The convex and concave cases are enhanced with rhodium-plated flanks in an effort to highlight the design’s versatile construction.
The dials are well laid out, even if there is a lot happening face-side. The dials pay homage to the Roman house’s now familiar styling, featuring a white lacquer with a Florentine mosaic mother-of-pearl central zone. The opulence continues with the mother-of-pearl marquetry framed by a diamond ring, which also adds a bit more dimensionality to the watch.
What is most noteworthy from a mechanical standpoint is the IShine’s unique gemstone rotating mechanism. It allows for three configurations to be selected on the dial: 12 white diamonds, 12 blue sapphires or 12 pink sapphires. The precious stones are revealed by turning the crown at 3 o’clock, which itself is adorned with a hand-faceted 0.42 carat diamond set in six 18-karat gold prongs.
I’m a fan of the new Fendi IShine Limited Edition, not least because it goes further to promote the Roman Maison’s essential DNA. Their luxury look notwithstanding, this is a series of contemporary timepieces that can be easily worn from dawn to dusk.
