Blancpain

September 2001

For the second consecutive year, Blancpain has the privilege of associating its name with the 11th prestigious Monaco Yacht Show. From 26 to 29 September, yachting fans will be able to see the latest marvels of the high seas, for which Blancpain will be the standard-bearer with a new timepiece dedicated - as is only fitting - to maritime navigation.

Blancpain today reaffirms its affinity with the ocean world by presenting a new Monaco Yacht Show model. Last year, Prince Rainier, a big fan of prestige watches, made the Blancpain stand one of his favourite haunts at the Monaco Yacht Show - testament enough of the brand's excellence. Furthermore, he personally gave his approval for the Monaco YS watch to bear on its dial the Principality's emblem, the flag of red and white diamonds, which can be seen this year on a white dial.

This limited series of 300 watches is equipped with the self-winding flyback chronograph movement, which is the smallest and thinnest of its kind in the world. Its mechanism, the thickness of which does not exceed 5.5mm, is a genuine masterpiece of technology and refinement: its 308 components, all decorated and assembled by hand, can be seen through a transparent sapphire crystal case-back.

The polished steel watch case, based on the Aqua Lung line and fitted with a screw-in crown and pushers, guarantees water-resistance to a depth of 100 metres.
