Gucci Group announces new appointment

December 2000




Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 12th December 2000: Gucci Group N.V. (Amsterdam and NYSE: GUC) announces the appointment of Thierry Andretta, 43, as Vice President, Gucci Group. In this position he will report to Domenico De Sole, President and Chief Executive Officer of Gucci Group N.V. He will have senior management responsibilities with respect to newly acquired brands. The appointment will take effect from 1st February, 2001.

Thierry Andretta has over 20 years' management experience in the branded luxury goods sector. For the last two years he has worked for LVMH: as President and CEO of Celine S.A. until June 2000, and more
recently as Acquisitions Director at Louis Vuitton Fashion Group. In 1998 he joined Emanuel Ungaro S.A., part of Ferragamo Group. From 1980 to 1997, he worked for Skinea S.P.A., the leather and licence company of Belfe Group, which produces high quality active wear and leather goods.

Andretta, who has dual Italian and French nationalities, graduated in economic and commercial studies at Cà Foscari University of Venice.
