In an interview to the Swiss newspaper Le Temps published on the 15th of November 2000, Nicolas G. Hayek develops his soaring vision of life.
Modesty set apart, Mr Hayek stresses the role he plays, as leader of the Swatch Group, in the watch industry. He says: “one must not forget that, despite my modesty, I am a legend in our world, especially in the world of watches”. Mr Hayek's success story allows him to move in celebrity circles. “I, personally, take care of Cindy Crawford... It is not an unpleasant thing...” he said, referring to the top model's campaign for Omega.
