Longines Launches Special Edition Watch for the Olympics

September 2000

Longines, Official Partner of the Sydney 2000 olympic Games, has launched the Longines Conquest Sydney 2000, a special and limited edition watch

The Conquest Sydney 2000 embodies over a century of both horological and of sports history. Its horological lineage reaches back to 1832, the year Longines began its steady climb to the top, becoming one of the world's leading names in matters of precision timekeeping. Its sport-spirited character stems from the first Olympic Games of the modern era, staged in Athens in 1896. The Conquest Sydney 2000 thus brings together the essence of its twin ancestry, combining tradition and pioneering achievements, a spirit of innovation and natural elegance. Available in two sizes, its round brush-finished and polished steel case features a Conquest-type indented bezel, and comes equipped with a bracelet featuring polished center connector links, fitted with a triple-security clasp. The Conquest Sydney 2000 is equipped with a quartz movement. Distinctively bearing both the official emblem of the Sydney 2000 Olympic games, its dial shows the hours, minutes and seconds on both figures and markers. The scratch-resistant cambered sapphire crystal and water resistance to 100 meters (330 feet) provide efficient protection against the hazards of everyday life.
