Introducing Tissot's new versions of the PRX

The brand adds eight new models to the popular PRX line, including a chronograph and a new 35mm case.

T

he introduction of the Tissot PRX last year was a commercial and critical success. Now, Tissot is set to open the next exciting chapter in its story. The stylish line will be joined by new automatics with upscale gold bezels, a high-end automatic chronograph, and a new expression of the design with a 35mm case for both men and women, directly inspired by the 1978 original.

Leading the new PRX line will be two 40mm versions of the PRX Automatic, both featuring satin-finished steel cases and 18K solid rose gold fluted bezels. The pair will be powered by the high-performance Powermatic 80 movement, which combines an anti-magnetic Nivachron™ hairspring with an 80-hour power reserve. One model will have a brown dial, the other a blue dial, both with a satin sunray finish.

Tissot fans all over the world have praised the PRX for its design, its sense of proportion and the way it faithfully revives a much-loved Tissot classic. But for some would-be wearers, the launch collection models were too large.

So this year, Tissot will also launch a new collection of five PRX models with 35mm satin-finished steel cases, all powered by quartz movements. The variety will come in the available dial colour palette.

There will be four steel models with either a silver, blue, green or light blue sunburst dial, and a further steel model with a yellow-gold-PVD-plated case and bracelet and a yellow-gold-coloured dial.

This collection neatly captures the essence and exact dimensions of the 1978 original on which the PRX’s retro design is based, and also the trend for unisex watches. No doubt, it will add to the model’s rapidly expanding international fan base.
