ith its assertive aesthetics and visible mechanism, the new Mido Multifort Skeleton Vertigo takes a bold stance. In a true stylistic and technological achievement, the Swiss watchmaker showcases the heart of its automatic movement by revealing its finely skeletonised plate.

The timepiece shows a strong architectural influence – a characteristic of this collection inspired by the Sydney Harbour Bridge – with Geneva stripes adorning its unique anthracite-coloured face. Inside its robust steel exterior, the ultra-resistant Caliber 80, fitted with a Nivachron™ balance-spring, proudly displays its gear train. Its exceptional autonomy lasts for up to 80 hours, promising ultimate accuracy for conquering the city without stopping.

Mido draws its inspiration for the Multifort collection from the architecture of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Multifort and the Harbour Bridge are actually contemporaries, as both were created in the 1930s. Offering the perfect combination of style and substance, function and aesthetics, Mido celebrates this ultra-resistant, enduring monument with its instantly recognisable design features. The Multifort’s characteristic Geneva stripes on the dial recall the suspension cables on the Bridge. But the robustness and exceptional longevity of this collection, which has been in production for over 85 years, also define the Multifort as a creation that has stood the test of time.

And what if it was time to defy appearances? The skeletonised movement plate of the Multifort Skeleton Vertigo reveals its ultra-high-performance mechanism. For a cutting-edge look into its smallest details, its vertical Geneva stripes coated in an intense shade of anthracite are punctuated by faceted indexes adorned with white Super-LumiNova® and a central minute track in relief. Three-sided hour and minute hands with white Super-LumiNova® and a flat diamond-cut seconds hand float over this display, which is both hypnotic and clear to read.

To withstand city life, a new arena of endless possibilities, the Multifort Skeleton Vertigo has a 42 mm diameter case with a screwed case back and crown, and a strap with a folding clasp, both in satin-finished steel. The sapphire crystal features an anti-reflective treatment on both sides and helps accentuate the dynamic lines of the case, which is water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m/330 ft).

Echoing the dial’s decoration and opening onto the skeletonised movement plate, the transparent case back reveals the finely decorated automatic movement and its oscillating weight adorned with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo. The Caliber 80 defies time with a power reserve of up to 80 hours. To offer unfailing accuracy, Mido has fitted it with a Nivachron™ balance-spring, a material that noticeably reduces the effect of magnetic fields on the watch’s rate while offering excellent resistance to shocks and ageing.

Mido also presents three other Multifort Skeleton Vertigo models: in steel or with rose gold-coloured PVD treatment, on semi-matt brown leather straps, and a version with black PVD coating, touches of Mido orange and a fabric strap.

For those who seek it out, adrenaline can be found everywhere. With its sporty, technical look, the new Multifort Skeleton Vertigo offers a dizzyingly robust and daring timepiece for your wrist.
