aurice Lacroix turns the history books on their head, ushering in a bold new chapter for the Fiaba collection. Meet the Fiaba Square: debuting in twelve pebble-inspired versions, blending assertive aesthetics with Swiss craftsmanship. More than a watch, it’s a mark of individuality.
What’s in a name? For the Fiaba, it’s a nod to transformation, a collection rooted in history, yet conscious of its evolution. Meaning ‘fairy tale’ in Italian, Fiaba embodies imagination and progress: an object that pushes the boundaries of creativity while echoing the wonder of childhood stories that first shape our view of the world.
And though we may outgrow those early fables, their magic endures. Maurice Lacroix captures that spirit with the new Fiaba Square – a reimagining of the past, where classic style meets a modern edge. It blends art, beauty and heritage with comfort, versatility, and sharp design.
Call it an ‘80s revival – the new Fiaba Square reimagines the collection’s original rectangular designs from a decade that delighted in boldness and self-expression. While this updated silhouette bridges past and present, it’s more than a homage to history, it’s a metamorphosis for modern wrists. Evolving from sharp angles to flowing curves, Fiaba now unites its legacy in a single, fluid form, inspired by the smoothness of a pebble. The result: an ergonomic timepiece that marries the strength of a square with the softness of a circle.
Built on the fairy tales of our youth, these stories are nothing if not universal, and the new Fiaba collection offers twelve unisex timepieces to suit every style. For those drawn to warm gold tones, Maurice Lacroix sets a new gold standard with four single-tone gold PVD models. Two feature Steel Gold PVD 4N for a rich, rosier hue; the other two in Gold PVD 2N offer a classic yellow-gold look, paired with either a matching bracelet or calf-leather strap, and each designed with an easy-change mechanism for modern versatility.
For fans of bold two-tone designs, the Fiaba collection includes two pairs in Steel Gold PVD 4N and 2N, each available with a matching steel bracelet or calf-leather strap that complements the wrist, whether worn alone or layered with jewellery. If refinement is more your remit, a Steel Silver edition adds a touch of pared-back charm. The Fiaba Square story expands further with four additional steel models, each paired with calf-leather straps in a range of tones, from classic black and brown to eye-catching pistachio and vibrant sky blue.
While the Fiaba’s vivid strap options suit every wrist, its appeal extends well beyond colour. Roman numerals sit on a finely finished flinqué-patterned dial, with a geometric ripple flowing through the centre, neatly framing the hour and minute hands. For the pistachio and sky blue models, a white mother-of-pearl dial has been crafted to create a dynamic interplay of energy and elegance. All dials are protected by sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, shielding from the glare of any nearby gadgets while highlighting the watch’s timeless design.
A celebration of sophistication, the Fiaba Square is a refined companion for daily life, powered by the Ronda 762.E quartz movement with an industry-leading 10-year power reserve. Each of the twelve models features a 24mm x 34mm case, water-resistant to 5ATM, combining durability with grace.
But beyond a decade of fellowship on the wrist, these are more than just timekeepers. Each Fiaba tells its own story, blending luxury design with watchmaking expertise, all at a fairy tale price, thus inviting you to craft your own story – one of determination, one of individuality, and one where time is always by your side.
Since 1975, Maurice Lacroix has united urban style and Swiss craftsmanship while simultaneously delivering high perceived value. Located in the heart of the Franches-Montagnes, the Manufacture has repeatedly demonstrated its watchmaking expertise, producing an array of Manufacture movements, in-house mechanisms and several groundbreaking models, including the Masterpiece Square Wheel (2010), Materpiece Mysterious Seconds (2013) and the Triple Rétrograde (2021). These innovative watches, along with many others, have proved firm favourites among the watch collecting community and have led to the company receiving more than 15 awards.
In 2014, following requests to bring back the Calypso, a former model that was discontinued in 2003, the brand’s creative team sought to reimagine it for a modern-day audience. Two years later (2016), Maurice Lacroix released the inaugural Aikon, an urban timepiece that immediately resonated with Millennials and Genzers. The collection has proved a box-office sensation, incentivising the Maison to release new expressions of the Aikon. Today, Maurice Lacroix finds inspiration in the world’s great metropolises, capturing the vibrancy of street life and creating watches ideally suited to city living.
