AG Heuer unveils the Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E5, the fifth generation of its pioneering luxury smartwatch collection and the most refined expression yet of the brand’s Avant-Garde philosophy. For ten years, Tag Heuer has redefined what a connected watch can be, forging its own path through a Swiss watchmaking lens that values craftsmanship, design, and emotion in equal measure.
The Calibre E5 carries this vision forward, delivering a connected timepiece with a digital heart and a mechanical soul, intended to inspire its wearer to move confidently through every moment while uniting physical artistry and advanced digital performance in a single, cohesive creation.
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 represents a natural evolution of the collection, offering a more versatile, personal experience while honoring TAG Heuer’s watchmaking heritage. Available in the signature 45 millimeter size and now joined by a new 40 millimeter case, the Calibre E5 expands its appeal to a wider range of wrists without compromising on the essential design language that defines the collection.
Refinements in the case architecture demonstrate careful attention to detail. Faceted lugs create sharper, more dynamic lines, while reworked pushers deliver a smoother silhouette and an even more satisfying tactile experience. The integration of the new interchangeable strap system removes the visual breaks of earlier generations, offering a seamless transition between case and strap that aligns with the codes of fine watchmaking.
Case materials have been selected with care. The 45 millimeter models are offered in stainless steel with ceramic bezels or in black DLC-coated titanium with a full sandblasted finish for a more technical aesthetic. The 40 millimeter range showcases polished stainless steel with domed sapphire crystals that include refined grey and silver hour markers printed on the underside of the crystal for clarity and subtlety. A rose golden PVD variation within the 40 millimeter collection introduces warmer tones, complemented by a beige rubber strap and pin buckle that add a distinctive touch without sacrificing the understated luxury that defines the Tag Heuer Connected line.
The redesigned strap system supports the most comprehensive assortment of materials and colors yet, including rubber, leather, metal, and nylon. The 45 millimeter models are paired with deployant clasps for balance and security on the wrist, though the sport strap in the accessory collection features a pin buckle. The 40 millimeter models use proportionally scaled pin buckles on rubber straps, while leather options are fitted with folding clasps to maintain the integrity of the overall design.
At the core of the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 lies TAG Heuer OS*, a proprietary user experience and interface developed entirely in- house to deliver a digital experience that aligns with the values of precision and craftsmanship. This user experience expresses Tag Heuer’s commitment to controlling every aspect of its connected watch environment, with the new system offering a cleaner interface, improved legibility, and faster, more intuitive navigation.
TAG Heuer OS supports voice calls and voice assistant access through an integrated speaker and microphone, featuring custom Tag Heuer haptics and sounds, the audio system has been calibrated to deliver clarity and discretion, aligning with the overall harmony of the design. The interface offers improved legibility, cleaner visual organization, and customizable widgets, including those for activity tracking, heart rate monitoring and weather updates.
Battery performance has also been extended across the range. The 45 millimeter model supports up to three days of battery life, while the 40 millimeter variant offers up to two, with a full day’s use achievable after just 30 minutes of charging for the 45mm and 40 minutes for the 40mm. Connectivity has also been improved, with pairing times reduced by a factor of five in comparision to previous generations, and full MFi** (Made for iPhone) certification ensuring compatibility with iPhone devices.
TAG Heuer continues its tradition of building precision instruments that serve as partners in daily life. The Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E5 expands its role in wellness with a suite of capabilities aimed at offering users meaningful, clear, and actionable data.
The Wellness Activity app within the Tag Heuer Connected Calibre E5 offers a clear and engaging way to monitor daily movement, capturing calories burned, steps taken, and active time with precision. Daily and weekly visualizations provide a straightforward overview of activity levels, helping users maintain focus and consistency in their routines. Personalized goal settings add an element of motivation, translating intentions into achievable targets and offering continuous feedback that supports healthier habits over time.
The dedicated Heart Rate app complements this by delivering continuous, live readings with detailed insights into minimum and maximum heart rates throughout the day. Resting and workout heart rates are tracked with clarity, while daily graphs allow users to visualize their physical activity and wellbeing trends.
Coming later in the winter season, the sleep functionality will be integrated as a central part of the wellness ecosystem, enabling analysis of sleep phases, blood-oxyden saturation (SpO2), breathing rate, and heart-rate variability. By combining these metrics, users will gain a nuanced understanding of their nightly rest and its impact on overall well-being.
This approach positions the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 as an instrument of measurement for time, and the human spirit, reinforcing Tag Heuer’s vision of supporting wearers in surpassing their own limits physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Tag Heuer also further deepens its commitment to supporting performance in specific disciplines, with particular attention given to running and golf.
For runners, the watch introduces running plans, offering structured preparation for every level of experience. Dual-band GNSS technology ensures highly accurate GPS tracking even in challenging environments, supporting long training sessions with battery life of up to seventeen hours on the 45 millimeter model and twelve hours on the 40 millimeter. The redesigned Sports app improves readability and real-time access to essential data, ensuring that athletes remain informed and focused throughout every session.
Golf maintains its place as a central pillar of the TAG Heuer Connected experience through the Calibre E5 Golf Edition, which includes a specially engraved bezel marked with hole numbers one through eighteen, reflecting the traditions of the sport while underscoring the watch’s purpose. Its bi-material strap, crafted with a rubber and showing a textured surface inspired by golf ball dimples, provides both grip and a strong visual connection to the game.
The course map display has been redesigned to show full hole layouts with auto-zoom that adjusts dynamically as the player advances, paired with enhanced auto-scoring functionality to deliver essential data for each round without requiring interaction with any other device. Over 40,000 course maps are available for download worldwide, while improved shot detection algorithms and GPS convergence that is three times faster than the previous generation contribute to an experience crafted for both competitive and recreational golfers.
