A lunar glow: Longines PrimaLuna shines in new artistic expressions

Longines expands its feminine PrimaLuna collection with captivating new designs that blend artistic mastery and technical refinement. From exquisite cloisonné dials crafted in luminous mother-of-pearl to vibrant new sunray finishes, each timepiece reflects the brand’s enduring dialogue between timeless elegance and modern creativity.

Building on the success of its redesigned PrimaLuna collection, Longines is introducing alluring new expressions that celebrate the versatility of calibres and dial design. New additions to the collection showcase the traditional cloisonné technique applied to luminous mother-of-pearl dials alongside striking new sunray finishes. While maintaining the collection’s essential elegance, these extensions ensure that sophisticated Swiss watchmaking speaks to diverse preferences and lifestyles.

Since its introduction in 2009, the Longines PrimaLuna collection has embodied feminine elegance for the brand and celebrated the poetic connection between timekeeping and lunar cycles. The 2025 redesign elevated every aspect of the collection’s aesthetic and technical foundations, and these new additions continue that evolution by introducing versatile movement options while maintaining the collection’s essential DNA.

Longines is enhancing the aesthetics of the collection by introducing the traditional cloisonné technique to mother-of-pearl dial models, featuring the exclusive Longines automatic calibre L899.5 with moonphase complication, which was launched earlier this year. The cloisonné technique involves shaping the dial — notably the applied hour ring — with fine metal wires that outline and separate areas of color, lending the dial its distinctive artistry and emotional depth. Available in luminous blue and vivid green mother-of-pearl, these exceptional dials transform each timepiece into a work of decorative art.

Longines PrimaLuna now embraces greater versatility through expanded movement offerings. The new three-hand automatic models offer classic timekeeping elegance powered by the exclusive Longines calibre L888.5, which features advanced silicon balance-spring technology, anti-magnetic components and an impressive 72-hour power reserve. These models maintain the collection’s signature 34 mm proportions while streamlining the dial composition to emphasise horological fundamentals.

The collection now also includes elegant new quartz models in 30 mm cases, powered by the L257.2 calibre. These timepieces embody an elegance suited to every occasion while preserving the refined case design and integrated bracelet architecture that distinguish the Longines PrimaLuna family.

The new dial colours across the Longines PrimaLuna quartz collection artfully express a sophisticated palette that is one of the highlights of the current season’s fashion landscape. From the striking mint-blue to the lavender-mauve sunray finishes available in the quartz models, each reflects the confident, expressive spirit that is the hallmark of current fall and winter style. Enhanced with 15 diamond indexes, these mint-blue and lavender-mauve sunray dials create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow.

These new models continue to exemplify Longines’ philosophy that elegance is, indeed, an attitude. From the intricate beauty of cloisonné work to the seasonal sophistication of striking colours, each addition to the Longines PrimaLuna collection demonstrates how traditional Swiss watchmaking can honour heritage techniques while remaining distinctly contemporary.
