“We are proud to present a new Experience within the Italianity chapter: a true journey through time, offering our clients an immersive entry into the very genesis of our legend. This exclusive opportunity is reserved for the owners of the new Radiomir Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set, with both PAM01729 and PAM01730 masterfully reinterpreting some of Panerai’s most iconic Radiomir features. Together, the two new watches not only perpetuate heritage within contemporary design timepieces but also testify Panerai’s unwavering faithfulness to its origins” states Alessandro Ficarelli, Chief Marketing and Product Officer of Panerai.
Scheduled from September 15th to 18th, 2026, the journey commences in Florence, the heart of the Maison’s legacy. Guests will embark on an emotionally resonant exploration of the brand’s storied past. Within the city’s embrace, they will celebrate a century of Panerai’s Florentine boutique presence in Piazza San Giovanni through a meticulously curated exhibition.
The itinerary then leads participants to retrace the heroic footsteps of the legendary Italian frogmen, exploring their original meeting grounds, training arenas, and diving points at the mouth of the Serchio River. These foundational locales, each brimming with historical resonance and captivating narratives, will illuminate the intricate tapestry of Panerai’s heritage.
The expedition culminates with a visit to the Comsubin base in Porto Venere, followed by a breathtaking yacht tour along the Ligurian coastline, a powerful evocation of the brand’s profound maritime roots. This voyage through time is thoughtfully complemented by the new Radiomir Viaggio Nel Tempo Experience Set, comprising PAM01729 and PAM01730, which marks the first time the Maison associates a Watch Set with one of its Experiences.
An icon forged from history, the new Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01729 achieves a powerful first. The new watch, part of Maison’s first ever Experience Watch Set, combines two of Panerai’s most iconic and historically significant features: the distinctive California dial configuration with a commanding 47mm bronze case, a material deeply rooted in the brand’s profound maritime legacy.
The California Dial owes its fame to the distinctive alternation of Roman and Arabic numerals on its two halves, a feature that has made it a favorite among collectors. It also perfectly embodies the concept of functional design: a design born from necessity, conceived to ensure superior readability in dark conditions, where the two distinct halves provided an immediate indication of the dial’s orientation. Legend has it that the California dial got its particular name from a dial restoration company in California that became known for modifying this kind of watch dial and leading collectors to dub them “California”.
The PAM01729’s 47mm bronze case boasts a special composition, where the use of pure copper and pure tin promotes the creation of a distinctive patina on the surface. Thanks to this special evolution, this alloy has become a true asset for the Maison, solidifying Panerai’s bronze timepieces as some of the most sought-after. The aging process of bronze is truly fascinating, as every piece evolves with the owner’s life, acquiring a distinctive appearance: when new, it exhibits a warm, red gold-like hue, gradually developing a patina that arises from its interaction with external elements such as air, moisture, heat, and friction.
While this patina doesn’t alter the material’s inherent properties, this protective layer imbues each piece with a unique appearance while safeguarding the material itself. This evolving character makes PAM01729 an ideal companion for this new Experience through time, poised to accompany owners through the brand’s history, preserving their memories within its distinctive surface. PAM01729’s vintage appeal is reinforced by its slim wire lugs and cone-shaped crown, signature features of the historic dive watches from the mid-1930s and 1940s.
PAM01729 is powered by the P.3000 calibre with 3 days power reserve, a large movement that draws inspiration from historic Panerai models. With a diameter of 161⁄2 lignes, its construction resembles a three-quarter plate movement, with a large bridge alongside a smaller one covering most mechanical parts. This setup is secured by thick screws, creating a rigid structure that enhances shock resistance. Two spring barrels connected in a series of long, thin springs deliver a more consistent force over time.
Bar markers and a minute track complete the dial’s layout, while a black dial creates a striking backdrop for the blue burnished steel hands, whose distinctive blue hue echoes the heritage of fine watchmaking, when bluing was essential for protecting against corrosion and improving legibility. This signature hue is now achieved through a controlled oxidation process at about 300°C. The vintage appeal of the dial is accentuated with a domed Plexiglass® crystal, recalling the design of the early dive watches with a luminescent Radiomir dial, developed for the Italian Navy.
Beige Super-LumiNova® adds a vintage touch and ensures optimal visibility in low light, emitting a green glow in the dark. The titanium open caseback features a sapphire glass, providing a privileged glimpse into the heart of the timepiece: the P.3000 calibre, developed in Panerai’s Manufacture in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. PAM01729’s look is complemented by a dark brown rolled leather strap, featuring a flat and understated vintage construction, and a bronze pin buckle with a trapezoidal shape, recalling the historic Panerai watches covered by the military secret.
The second timepiece pairs a 47mm Radiomir with Panerai PlatinumtechTM. The Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience PAM01730 features a special alloy made with 95% pure platinum that boasts an 85% increase in hardness than standard platinum due to a distinctive treatment process. Providing a higher scratch resistance than standard platinum, this material weights 33% more than 18-carat gold, giving the new timepiece a notable heft. With its cushion-shaped case, domed PLEXIGLAS® crystal, slim wire lugs, and cone-shaped crown, the PAM01730 perfectly completes the Watch Set’s vintage allure, embodying the defining hallmarks of the early dive watch prototypes with a luminescent Radiomir dial – features that have not only become iconic elements of the collection but also serve as testaments to the brand’s military heritage.
PAM01730 introduces a more elaborate expression of Panerai contemporary watchmaking through the decorated hand-wound P.3001/10 calibre. Its skeletonized bridges, finished with perlage, allow a clear view of the calibre’s architecture and the balance wheel in motion. A power-reserve indicator positioned on the back preserves the purity of the dial while offering practical oversight of its running time. Its elevated finish makes it particularly appreciated by collectors who value mechanical detail.
PAM01730 features for the very first time a black circular-brushed dial, which presents the Maison’s signature sandwich construction, historically featured in Panerai’s early dive watches to enhance readability even in total darkness. This captivating visual effect is achieved through a hand-executed rotational brushing technique, resulting in micro-circles that ensure each piece develops its own slight variations. This results in responsiveness to light, allowing the black tone to deepen and come alive in sunlight thanks to the circular patterning. This is complemented by a tone-on-tone ‘Radiomir Panerai’ inscription, engraved directly into the dial and resulting in a nearly invisible appearance, subtly evoking the secret nature of early Panerai’s dive watches for the Italian Navy.
Like PAM01729, also PAM01730 features blue burnished steel hands, with the blue hue echoing Panerai’s legacy. Beige Super-LumiNova® on hands and numerals emits a green glow in the dark and ensures optimal visibility in low light.
Radiomir Viaggio nel Tempo Experience Set PAM01730 understated look is complemented by a dark brown alligator strap and a polished white gold buckle with a trapezoidal shape. Both references are water resistant up to 10 bar ( 100 meters) and, as with all Panerai timepieces, they are designed, developed and tested to +25% of their stated water resistance.
Available only in 30 sets, the two watches come in a special mahogany presentation case and will be available starting from June 2026.
