orn from fantasy and brought to life by the artisan’s hand, Alebrijes are fantastical creatures where animals and imagination collide. Bold and unexpected, they blur the line between fantasy and reality. Every detail carries meaning. Every creation tells a story.
By bringing the worlds of Día de los Muertos and Alebrijes together, Mido transforms memory into imagination, and imagination into watchmaking.
Some traditions are rooted in the past. Others evolve with every generation, finding new ways to carry their heritage forward. Since 2020, Mido has celebrated Día de los Muertos through a special edition inspired by its unique relationship with time. First created for Mexico, these editions have gradually travelled beyond its borders, sharing a different vision of memory with the world: not as something frozen in time, but as a legacy constantly renewed.
In 2026, for the first time, this celebration takes shape within the iconic Multifort TV case. At the heart of the dial, a radiant and expressive calavera takes centre stage. This decorative skull, emblematic of Día de los Muertos, is a powerful reminder that memories never disappear. They evolve, transform and remain part of who we are.
Born from the imagination of Mexican artist Pedro Linares in the 1930s, Alebrijes are creatures of pure fantasy. Part animal, part dream, they bring together unexpected forms, vibrant colours and boundless imagination.
Around the calavera, the Alebrijes turn the dial into a world of their own. Unexpected forms collide, fantasy takes over and every detail reveals something new. More than decoration, they embody creativity, transformation and the freedom to imagine beyond the expected.
Then darkness falls, and everything changes. Three colours of Super-LumiNova® and twelve lacquers transform the dial, revealing a new dimension by night.
The Multifort TV Big Date reinvents itself down to its straps. Steel brings everyday versatility. Red rubber adds a bold twist. Milanese mesh introduces a more refined edge. One watch, three personalities, endless ways to make it your own.
Behind the visual exuberance beats a movement built to perform. Powered by the automatic Calibre 80, equipped with a Nivachron™ balance spring and delivering up to 80 hours of power reserve, the Multifort TV Big Date pairs bold design with proven performance. Reliable, precise and made to last, it gives substance to the emotion.
Every detail carries the story forward. Even the numeral 1 in the Big Date display at 12 o’clock takes the shape of a bone, a detail that extends the story down to the smallest element. Art meets mechanics. Emotion meets precision. Imagination meets Swiss watchmaking mastery.
Time is more than the seconds that pass. It is found in the memories we create, the stories we pass on and the bonds that connect us. In the spirit of Día de los Muertos, the past is never simply left behind. It travels across generations through symbols, stories and emotion, reminding us that what matters lives on.
The new Multifort TV Big Date Día de los Muertos Alebrijes pays tribute to those who inspire us, the dreams that drive us and the moments that become memories. What we remember keeps the past close. Dreams pull us forward. But life is lived in the present. Treasure it.
