inase’s very first collection was the M1, followed by the M2 and the M3 that embodied the concept of “ultimate simplicity”. Then came the more popular collections Horizon, Windows and Divido. The intention of the Mastercraft J3 was to pay tribute to the brand’s origin with a simple, minimalistic yet perfectly neat design.

The Mastercraft J3 was inspired by the M3 and redesigned under a new, more elegant and contemporary concept. The case diameter has been reduced from 38.8 mm to 37.0 mm, while thickness has been refined from 10.8 mm to 9.9 mm. Minase has thus preserved the distinctive beauty of the M3 while creating a more compact and refined profile, a perfect fit for his and hers.

The attention to details that cannot be achieved through mass production remains central to Minase’s philosophy. The Mastercraft J3 pays tribute to Japanese craftsmanship, as all the other Minase collections. The steel parts are meticulously hand-polished with the Sallaz technique.

Known for producing distortion-free mirror surfaces and sharply defined edges, Sallaz polishing is one of the defining characteristics of Minase watches. The Mastercraft J3 features a tastefully designed cushion-shaped case, framing a round dial opening which evokes a sense of classic elegance reminiscent of the 1970s.

For the first time in the brand’s history, Minase’s J3 series features a Japanese movement. The J3 is powered by the Miyota 90S5 automatic movement. Made by Citizen and launched in 2019, it is a popular and reliable engine and consists in an affordable alternative to Swiss calibres.

The Mastercraft J3 is available in three dial colours: white, beige and black, all developed to create subtle depth and a soft interaction with light depending in the viewing angle and environment.

Sharp-cut hands create a refined contrast against the sand-textured dial surface, adding subtle dimensionality to the minimalist design. To enhance the visibility, both indexes and the hands are treated with blue luminescent material.

The J3 offers a variety of interchangeable strap options, allowing wearers to personalize their watch thanks to a one-touch quick-change system allowing effortless interchangeability:
