This year sees the re-launch of Wyler Genève (Wyler) whose origins date back to 1896, a Swiss watch-making company belonging to the Italian Binda Group. Wyler will introduce for the first time its new concept and its newly developed products at this year’s Baselworld Fair beginning March 31.

Feeding off a long and impressive history, all new Wyler timepieces have maintained some of the key elements that so much defined the brand in the past. Particularly the “Leitmotiv“ to build one of the most shock-resistant watches hand endured until today. Therefore, the balance wheel with flexible arms, the so-called “Incaflex“, a Wyler exclusive, finds use in the new timepieces of Wyler. The technical and sporty character is also clearly discernable, a feature that is also the driving force behind its sister brand “Wyler Vetta“, which is mainly marketed in Italy. The launch of the new Wyler is a clear proof of the Binda Group’s commitment to firmly establish itself at the premium end of the watch market.

With the new to watchesbe introduced, Wyler has taken its “Leitmotiv“ to a new level. Having exploited all means to render the movement shock resistant with Incaflex and Incabloc, Wyler’s engineers turned toward the watch case. Not unlike an independent suspension system of an automobile, an “inner“ case housing the movement is suspended on 4 independent springs. It is these springs that are first in line to endure and absorb the impact of a shock.

All these technical features are complimented by a bold and technical design of the new Wyler watches which are launched under the name “
Double V8“. Alone this name will appeal to people who are fascinated and inspired by performance machines, but who also enjoy ambitious challenges.

Binda has appointed Marc Bernhardt as the CEO of the Geneva based company. Marc is well known to the industry as former CEO of Bertolucci and Executive Director of Sales of IWC Schaffhausen. He will be managing the launch of the company in Basel with the aim to quickly establish a strong, yet exclusive network of distributors in all major international markets.
