Aber/Harry Winston appoints exec post

September 2007

In his new position, Chatti, previously the managing director of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces, will oversee global product development and manufacturing of both fine jewelry and timepieces for the company.

Chatti will be responsible for managing technical innovations and the supply chain, as well as the sorting of diamonds for the company, worldwide, directing all rough-diamond sorting from Aber's mining interests in Diavik.

Prior to his employment with Harry Winston, Chatti was managing director at Montblanc Timepieces from 2001 to 2005. During his tenure with the company, he successfully implemented the integration of the company's design and technical departments. Before his stint with Montblanc, he was the technical and quality director for Piaget, where he served as a member of the company's executive committee, overseeing the development of the company's technical and quality-control operations.

“Hamdi has been a key member of our management team since he joined us in 2005, and he is the ideal manager to assume this new role where he will oversee the consistently exquisite quality that is a hallmark of Harry Winston,” Aber President and Harry Winston Chief Executive Officer Thomas O'Neill said in a statement.
