Ralph Lauren watches debuted at last year’s SIHH, focusing on three lines, all using manufacture movements from Richemont brands. Now, Ralph Lauren looks to deepen its offering.
“This was the first collection of timepieces by Ralph Lauren, and watch enthusiasts have been appreciative of the serious approach to high-quality craftsmanship, featuring manufacture movements, precious materials and exceptional finishes,” says Guy C. Chatillon, CEO, Ralph Lauren Watches. “At the coming SIHH, we will add to the existing lines by introducing variations to complement the launch collection and widen the offer of feminine models. We will reinforce and build on our strong foundation.”
The pre-SIHH news for Ralph Lauren is the introduction of a new white gold Slim Classique model featuring a diamond-set bezel (two rows of 96 round, brilliant-cut diamonds, for a total of 192 gems). Each diamond is individually set by hand and placed in staggered inner and outer rows.

The Slim Classique Collection uses the ultra-thin 2.1mm Piaget manual-wind movement, rebadged as the RL430, in an ultra-thin 5.35mm case, while the silvered opaline dial displays black ‘Breguet style’ hands and Roman numerals. The centre of the dial is finished with a spiral ‘barleycorn’ pattern guilloché. The guilloché pattern on the central portion of the Slim Classique dial, with 80 waves in a series of compact spirals, is accented by a circular guilloché track that highlights the Roman numerals.
“The brand is just at the beginning so the future is open to many possibilities and we see numerous opportunities for our brand to expand the range for long-term development,” Chatillon details. “We offer a new alternative to the market. It is a unique partnership combining Ralph Lauren, an internationally renowned luxury lifestyle brand, with the fine watchmaking credibility, craftsmanship and expertise of Richemont. We have access to the best of the two companies: Ralph Lauren with its know-how in design and aesthetics of the products, and Richemont focusing on the horological side of the business supported by engineering and product development. The result is unparalleled quality and craftsmanship using the finest materials and featuring the timeless and one-of-a-kind design for which Ralph Lauren is known.”
