Taking place on 20-21 October 2023, the 9th edition of Salon Exceptional Watches (SEW) is gearing up to dazzle enthusiasts with a spectacular event dedicated to the world of luxury and precision-crafted watches. The two-day festival, marking its fourth appearance in Prague, promises to showcase the latest trends and innovations in horology.

EW has become famous as the most important meeting of lovers of fine mechanics in the Czech Republic. This year promises to offer a wide range of exclusive brands and models, from traditional manufacturers to new brands, trying to break through with modern innovative design. It will host a number of important exhibitors from renowned watchmaking companies.

Naturally there will be representatives from the Czech Republic, headed up by the independent watchmaker Ondřej Berkus and the Prokop & Brož studio. Alongside them will be the Robot brand and the local legend Prim Manufacture 1949, i.e. the Czech watch manufacturer ELTON hodinářská, a. s., which will be presenting to the world its main product of the season for the first time at the exhibition. It will be a model of a watch symbolising the huge community of people across continents. These manufacturers will also be complemented by brands from Switzerland, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan and even exotic Cuba, from where the Swiss-made watches Cuervo y Sobrinos claim their roots.

Among the highlights of the fair will be the presentation of new collections of luxury watch brands of world renown, such as Accutron, Bell & Ross, Bulova, Fortis, Franck Muller, Maurice Lacroix, and Zenith, but also those whose reputation is growing daily, such as Germany’s Sinn and Czapek Genève, as well as the company QlockTwo concentrating on wall clocks. Space will also be reserved for smaller and lesser-known brands, such as Behrens, Fears, and Vostok Europe.

The SEW watch fair at Žofín Palace is not only the ideal place for watch enthusiasts, but also for collectors, investors, and networking. The annual event thus creates a unique platform for establishing new business contacts and spreading awareness of exceptional watches. As such, Japanese icons G-Shock, Citizen, and Orient Star will also be revealing their latest innovations.

Traditional concepts of the craft will be presented not only by legendary diving watch manufacturer Squale but also by other well-known brands such as Milus, Edox, Epos, and Davosa, all of which are clamouring for attention. In addition to the aforementioned icon, Sinn from Frankfurt am Main, German watchmaking will be proudly represented by the family company Mühle Glashütte as well as Alexander Shorokhoff, Schaumburg Watch, Sternglas, and Lehmann.

During the exhibition visitors can once again look forward to a range of fascinating lectures, organised by Igor Sirota. It will also be possible to admire real-time handicrafts at the watchmaking table, which will be operated by the new domestic studio Tesař Tetur Watch – a pair of ambitious watchmakers who will not only be presenting their first watches, but also introducing visitors step-by-step to the process of skeletonising bridges.
