he name ‘Geneva’ transcends mere geography. Beyond being Mr. Gérald Genta’s birthplace or the location of the Maison’s revival, Geneva embodies pure refinement and unpretentious horological mastery. It is the spirit of a city where creativity truly takes form.
This collection reflects ‘l’Esprit de Genève’. Here, perfection is born from passion, patience, and the joy of creation. It remains utterly true to Mr. Genta’s watchmaking savoir-faire and his profound devotion to beauty.
Born from creative ingenuity and shaped for elegance, the Geneva collection celebrates audacious, sculptural forms. Its updated cushion-shaped case - softer than Mr. Genta’s original 1970s design - strikes a rare balance: daring yet discreet, soft yet sharp.
Neither round nor square, the cushion case with its gadroon forms a timeless, modern silhouette that transcends trends. Playing with light is paramount in the Geneva collection. The contrast between polished and satin surfaces reinforces the case’s contemporary, understated aesthetic. Significantly, each case is meticulously crafted in-house at La Fabrique des Boîtiers.
The two-segment minute track dial creates captivating optical illusions, generating a sense of soft intensity where nothing disturbs the flow of hours and minutes. The outer segment follows the case’s unique cushion shape, while the inner segment is perfectly circular, complementing its delicate ‘not-quite-round’ form.
The collection began with the Geneva Minute Repeater, one of watchmaking’s most prestigious complications. It has now evolved into a new time-only interpretation, elevating everyday wear into art on the wrist.
Designed by Matthieu Hegi, Artistic Director of La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, these two new time-only pieces introduce a slimmer profile and a versatile 38mm case size. This delivers an understated yet unmistakably gérald genta presence with an easy, everyday fit. Hegi also opted for a single, broader, and shorter lug on each side – a deliberate refinement that sharpens the case’s distinctive contours.
Two tone-on-tone interpretations bring the Geneva collection into warm and cool worlds.
The Geneva Time Only Marrone features a case and hands in rose gold 4N, renowned for its ability to catch and reflect light. Its tone-on-tone grained brass dial with a gradient smoked effect leans into a soft, warm hue. This is complemented by a brown leather strap, offering a subtle bronze, smouldering aesthetic and a touch of retro elegance.
The Geneva Time Only Grafite delivers a cooler metallic presence with its white gold case and silver-shaded grained brass dial. Rounded gold hands and indexes add depth and contrast, a nod to Mr. Genta’s fondness for craftsmanship with character. The watch is finished with a grey calf-skin leather strap.
Under the dial, the Zenith Elite GG-005P automatic movement ignites rhythm within both pieces, unveiled through the open caseback.
It features a revisited in-house oscillating mass for enhanced aesthetics, offering a 50-hour power reserve and a 4Hz frequency. The movement contains 158 components, each meticulously finished. Its refined construction ensures unwavering reliability, allowing the pieces to maintain exceptional accuracy for everyday wear.
With these two new creations, the Geneva collection opens a new chapter where light, proportion, and sculptural intent align, reinforcing its place as contemporary art for the wrist.
