Biver joins Hublot

June 2004

Jean-Claude Biver has been named as the new Executive Managing Director of Hublot.
Having earned his stripes with Audemars Piguet, Biver purchased Blancpain, turned it into a leader in the mechanical watch sector and then sold it to the Swatch Group in 1992.
He continued his career with the Swatch Group until earlier this year when he decided to take a year’s sabbatical but has now been talked out of that by the charismatic Carlo Crocco, the owner and Chairman and Managing Director of Hublot.
On his arrival in the company, Jean-Claude Biver flew to Madrid to join Carlo Crocco and then leave immediately for Japan. As one of the watch world’s leading marketing men, Biver will almost certainly be concentrating on taking Hublot over and beyond its annual production figure of 15,000 watches.
