New record figures at WatchTime Düsseldorf 2023

The annual exhibition saw a remarkable turnout with over 3,200 enthusiasts and collectors eager to engage with 45 watch manufacturers and cooperation partners. This significant event of the German watch industry held at Rheinterrasse Düsseldorf exceeded all expectations of the organisers.

F

rom 27 to 29 October 2023, visitors from all over the world benefited from experiencing a variety of the timepieces on display up close and personal and from exchanging ideas with brand representatives and founders. Likewise, the 28 speakers and experts who travelled to the event enriched the watch knowledge and interest of the audience in nine rounds of talks. This once again impressively underlines how great the interest in luxury watches is in one of the top 10 export markets of the Swiss watch industry and how strongly the German watch industry is anchored in its home market.

The 45 exhibitors this year included Alexander Shorokhoff, Atlantic Watches, Bauhaus, Bayerische Uhrmachermeisterschule, Belchengruppe, Bell & Ross, Botta, Bruno Söhnle, Circula, Czapek, Damasko, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Chronometrie (Akademie), Dorotheum, Eberhard, Formex, Fortis, Garmin, Guinand, Hanhart, Hansa Tresor, Heinrich Watches, Hentschel Hamburg, Iron Annie, Jean Marcel, Junghans, Juwelier Pletzsch with Blancpain, Breitling, Byrne, Chopard, Glashütte Original, Omega and Zenith, Laco, Leica and Leica Wetzlar, Lotus, Oris, Robot, Ruhla, Seiko, Sinn Spezialuhren, Staudt Chronometrie, Titoni, Vandaag, Villiger, Zentralverband für Uhren, Schmuck und Zeitmesstechnik with the initiative Wie tickst du? , Zeppelin.

In the 21st century, what is the state of the mechanical watch?

The great interest and the willingness to buy of the visitors could be converted into sales in the medium term as well as directly. Due to the large number of influencers and multipliers, the visibility of their brands and products has multiplied for the industry. In the process, WatchTime Düsseldorf manages to sustainably bring together end consumers, brands and media, true to the motto ’bringing the watch community together’.”

With the digital watch scene and watch clubs at the forefront, the event was privileged to welcome these guests, among others: Berlin Watch Circle, Chronondo, flomp89, Fortis Watch Club, Harry Liebling, Mario Lenke, Mr. Nice Watch, Oris Social Club, Seikoholics, Uhrforum, Watch Club Düsseldorf, Watchlounge, Watch Maxe, Watchragazzi, worldandwatches, Zeitzone Podcast, Uhrenratgeber.

New partners of the event enriched the portfolio of diverse experiences in an excellent way. There was the opportunity to assemble and disassemble watch movements, discover a variety of custom safes, test drive the recently launched Eletre by Lotus, admire stunning luxury guitars by Jens Ritter guitars and enjoy a unique cigar rolling workshop experience with Villiger cigars. Every manufacturer presented premieres that amazed the international audience.
