Geneva, Basel, Hong Kong, Las Vegas – these are the prime stops on the annual watch fair circuit. And you can add to that list Munich and Vienna, two sister fairs which take place in the autumn part of the schedule.

Next in line is Munichtime, which will take place from 28 – 30 October 2016 in the beautiful Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, Germany.

The Munich fair will have a lot in common with the fairs that came before it and those that will follow it. And no, it’s not which brands will take part in the exhibition.

The underlying theme for the recent watch fairs has been the unstable international context which has affected the watch industry of late. So the goal at this year’s Munichtime will be to send a strong, positive signal to consumers.

So far, the organizers are well on their way to success. Each year, the show has welcomed new exhibitors who have a lot to offer in the field of fine watchmaking to Bavarian watch enthusiasts and the German market more broadly.

On display this year will be renowned luxury watch labels like A. Lange & Söhne, Girard-Perregaux, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Piaget, Montblanc. (For the complete list of exhibitors, click here.)

The 2016 edition of the fair is expected to attract more than 13,000 visitors, which underlines the special reputation Munichtime has enjoyed for years among fans, independent watchmakers and with internationally renowned producers.

This year, the “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Chronometrie” or the “German Chronometric Society” for the non-German speakers among us, will also be present. To boost the industry among the younger crowds and to entice newcomers to the profession of watchmaking, the “Bayerische Meisterschule für das Uhrmacherhandwerk”, or Bavarian Master School for the Watchmaking Craft from Würzburg will also have a presence.
