Material Good unveils Boston location

The ten-year-old destination for fine jewellery and rare timepieces opens its third retail concept in Boston.

aterial Good (MG), the destination for rare and collectible fine jewelry and timepieces, opened its latest retail location on Boston’s famed Newbury Street in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood. The innovative concept, co-founded by Rob Ronen and Michael Herman in 2015, launched with a mission to place hospitality at the heart of the luxury retail experience. The new, over 2,500 square-foot boutique joins MG’s existing New York City flagship and Miami location.

“Choosing Boston for our third location reflects how we’ve always grown: listening closely to our clients and expanding in the places where they’ve invited us to be,” said Rob Ronen, Co-Founder of Material Good. He added, “Boston has a strong sense of community that aligns closely with our values. We’re excited to bring our trusted partners along for the ride and to create a space that feels welcoming, personal, and rooted in long-term relationships.”

MG Boston reimagines the brand’s signature residential-retail concept, anchored by its second-floor gathering and discovery space. Clients journey through a sequence of distinct yet harmonious rooms, each defined by its own ambiance and material language, from vintage armchairs encircling the fireplace to a communal dining table and an intimate private salon, encouraging visitors to settle in and explore at their own pace. A cohesive palette of leathered marble, suede, brass, bronze, and green velvet creates continuity throughout, punctuated by sculptural statements such as the Larose Guyon chandelier and Studio Henry Wilson sconces.

Integrated displays evoke a private library, walk-in closet, or art-filled credenza, dissolving the boundary between home and boutique, while a tightly curated selection of works from the founders’ personal collection, including Rashid Johnson, Damien Hirst, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, further personalizes the space, with each piece available for acquisition.

MG’s North American retail partnerships with luxury watchmakers Biver and Vanguart now extend to the Boston boutique. The boutique will also be an authorized retailer of Swiss timepiece brands Gérald Genta, Daniel Roth, H. Moser & Cie, and Konstantin Chaykin, as well as a purveyor of vintage and pre-owned luxury watches from Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Richard Mille, F.P.Journe, and Vacheron Constantin.

MG Boston highlights the team’s esteemed craftsmanship through its in-house jewelry offerings, including its eponymous collection of signature fine jewelry designs, MG Bridal creations, and the MG Atelier team’s custom work. This is complemented by a considered edit of designer fine jewelry and a rotating selection of the vintage, signed, and unsigned jewelry from its in-house curation, Found & Collected.

Beyond jewelry and timepieces, MG assembles rare objects of desire—fine art, leather goods, and collectibles of enduring significance. This ever-evolving showcase is paired with a global sourcing service, giving clients access to the world’s most coveted pieces.

This new location opening coincides with Material Good’s 10th Anniversary, an exciting decade that has seen the brand expand its retail presence nationwide and globally through its robust digital channels. For its next stop, clients can anticipate the arrival of MG Dallas in winter 2026, which includes a dedicated custom jewellery Atelier.
