It’s all fair game in Hong Kong. This year’s HKTDC Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair will take place from 6-10 September and include new regional participants and more public events.

The biggest global brands will be on display at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre come September. And they will bring with them plenty of business opportunities, with over 780 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions signed up.

Hong Kong is the world’s largest importer - and the second largest exporter - of watches making the city ideal for tapping into the Asian market, especially the ever-growing Chinese mainland market.

Realizing this opportunity in an otherwise stagnating watch market, new countries and regions have joined this year, including representation form Macau, Thailand, Turkey, and USA.

2 for 1 deal: “Salon de TE”

The Salon de TE, a premium event that brings together prestigious brands and designer collections, will also be staged at the same time. It provides a great platform for brand owners to build their brand image globally by showcasing their latest innovations and creations to quality buyers and retailers.

Last year the event brought in more than 19,600 international buyers, so there will be plenty of business to sniff out this year too.

Over 160 international brands will be connected with their targeted markets, organized based on different themes:

  • World Brand Piazza, featuring limited editions and rare timepieces from renowned brands like Blancpain, Bovet, Breguet, Bulgari, Chopard, Corum, DeWitt, Franck Muller, Glashütte Original, H. Moser & Cie, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget and Zenith.
  • Renaissance Moment, symbolizing classic European elegance and displaying watches originating from the continent. Vostok Europe (now of Lithuania) will be joining for the first time, displaying its high quality pieces and new technology that still carries the name of a famed Soviet watch brand.
  • Chic & Trendy, featuring the latest fashion brands, like Daniel Wellington of Sweden, and Switzerland’s TechnoMarine. Two other zones will pay homage to the craftsmanship of mechanical watches and the newest lines of smart watches.
  • Pageant of Eternity, dedicated to participants of truly outstanding timepieces.

Other can’t miss events

The 33rd Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design Competition will also take place during the fair, with competitions in two themes: “Gorgeous Stage” for an open group and “Love and Sharing” for students.

The Asian Watch Conference will also bring together heavyweights of the industry to forecast the market trends of smart watches, share market insights and build new connections.

Open house for the public

The Salon de TE will also open its doors to the public on its last day on September 10. Visitors will have the chance to splurge and buy a new watch on the sport, while exhibitors can connect personally with their high-end clientele. Other activities will include celebrity events, watch parades, lucky draws and retail sales.

And if all that isn’t enough to entice you, the inaugural fashion event - called CENTRESTAGE - will be launched from 7-10 September. It’s a dedicated marketing platform for international and regional fashion brands and designer labels with an Asian focus, also open to the public on September 10.
